Formula 3 Euro Series with outstanding media response

In 2009, the Formula 3 Euro Series contested its seventh season. And the success of the series is reflected not only by its former drivers alone: Formula 1 aces such as Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Timo Glock and Adrian Sutil as well as successful DTM drivers such as Paul Di Resta and Alexandre Prémat used the Formula 3 Euro Series as stepping stone. And the just published media data of the 2009 season show that the media presence of the planet’s most competitive young-gun series also keeps on increasing.

In Germany, ARD and n-tv covered the Formula 3 Euro Series live and re-live respectively. In addition, n-tv, DSF and DMAX brought résumés of the race weekends in a magazine format. Altogether, the German television covered the Formula 3 Euro Series for more than 24 hours, in 2009.

As one of the internationally most successful young-talent series, the Formula 3 Euro Series also attracts a lot of interest in many other countries. 15 stations in 23 countries covered the races line or re-live and race résumés were broadcasted in 123 other countries. The technical range of all the stations added up to some 666 million households and the coverage time amounted to 1,103 hours.

At the same time, the print media also covered the Formula 3 Euro Series extensively. Altogether, 1,956 articles dealing with the young-gun series were published - with a total circulation of nearly 346 million readers. The official website, www.f3euroseries.com, achieved a total of 5,398,466 site views, representing a monthly average of 449,872. Compared to 2008 (monthly average: 287,343 views), these figures represent an increase of more than 56 percent. The ten race events of the 2009 Formula 3 Euro Series season, held in Germany, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Spain attracted a total crowd of 718,000 visitors who travelled to the race venues to witness the race action on site.
